Chasing a longtime dream, Kim and Jon Dressler opened their first Dressler’s Restaurant location in 2003 at Birkdale Village and a second location at The Metropolitan in 2010. While the Birkdale location has been reimagined into a second Fin & Fino location, Dressler’s at the Metropolitan is still serving up signature favorites and hospitality with every dish.
Even if you didn’t come to Dressler’s for a special occasion, you’ll leave feeling like it was one.
While each Rare Roots endeavor varies in concept and design, they are all deeply rooted in the desire to treat guests like they are family. Our attention to detail, our ability to remember a name, and our carefully crafted menus are all expressions of a genuine hospitality that is increasingly harder to find. It requires talent, but it also requires a mindset of service. Our people have both. They come together every day, for 20 years and counting, to practice the type of hospitality you will typically only find at home.

Fin & Fino is a social seafood house offering a menu of small plates, an impressive raw bar selection, and a creative cocktail program! Guests can expect an adventure full of fresh seafood, high quality meats, house-made pastas and locally grown produce every time they sail through. Every visit offers something new to be explored and enjoyed!

THE PORTER'S HOUSE
Rooted in the generous hospitality made legendary by porters of the past, we pay homage to the timeless traditions of quality, care, richness, and warmth. That legacy of personal service, humble elegance and legendary experiences drives us. It extends into the ingredients we source, the fine spirits that fill our bourbon room, and the thickness, tenderness and marbling of signature porterhouse steaks.
CHAPTER 6
With Chapter Six, Rare Roots Hospitality brings the Western Mediterranean to the heart of South End, with bold dishes that show off the flavors of the coasts and fields of Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, France, and Italy. Offering a variety of mezze, small plates, and large plates, our menu allows you to pick your own adventure!
JOAN'S BAKERY & DELI
Everybody loves Mom’s cooking and Joan’s is top tier. At Joan’s you’ll find many of Charlotte’s favorite baked goods, including the cakes made famous at the Rare Roots family of restaurants. Stop in for a slice and a coffee, order a whole cake, or grab lunch from the Meshugganah deli counter courtesy of Chef Rob Clement. Joan says eat!
DRESSLER'S IMPROV KITCHEN AT MIDDLE C JAZZ CLUB
Rare Roots Hospitality is proud to operate Dressler’s Improv Kitchen, the food and beverage program at Middle C Jazz Club located in Uptown Charlotte. Middle C Jazz offers an intimate and upscale jazz club setting and maintains a focus on Southern hospitality, an attribute we share and mutually hold in high regard. Food and beverage from Dressler’s Improv Kitchen is available before and during every live performance at Middle C Jazz!
